The LCOGT Network
The Solar Siblings project uses the Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope (LCOGT) Network including 18 telescopes all around the world that vary from 1 metre to 2 metres in diameter.
The telescopes can be operated remotely and students will take three to five images of an object through each of the following filters: Ultra-violet; Blue; Green; Red; Infra-red.
Students then process and stack the individual images into one before analysing them in the case of open clusters. See the ‘about’ and ‘star-clusters’ pages for more information.
Click on the images of the telescopes below for information about them.
